it has 4x optical zoom, but no augmenting lens. i didn't zoom at all for this photo..the bird let me get pretty close..then i cropped a little also

lucky you for having a telephoto lens! yeah, this bird was almost uncanny...comparible to a house pet, if not more tame than one of them!!

This is a well done shot..it not easy capturing photos of animals, esp birds...and this one is a natural model hahaha, it didn't flew away probably coz it loves the camera hahaha...lovely..
